Ski touring and mountaineering are inseparable practices of the Black Crows identity. The Orb mirrors the vertical dimension which is part of our daily practice in Chamonix. The Orb has been totally reworked into a new version to improve its ascensionist characteristics. Therefore, it's considerably lighter, the Orb 179 has become one of the most technical skis in its category.
Lightened for greater efficiency on the ascent, its construction, its side walls and its new flex correspond to downhill requirements, including the steepest faces. Tenacious, agile and precise, its presence underfoot respects the line of the curve. From now on available in 168, the Orb may become your everyday ski, a special partner in many disciplines. All terrain, ski touring, downhill, powder and naturally on steep faces and couloirs.... The Orb is a key to the other side, to seek a little further, where the call of the mountain echoes.
construction
- Sandwich engineered woodcore wrapped with multi layers of bi and tri-axis fiberglass.
- Tip constructed with shock absorbing material and a reinforced tail for extra pop.
- The waist is reinforced and has a 3,5mm depth for drilling.
- A slightly inclined ABS side wall with generous edges for longer life.
- The base is hand finished and hot waxed, ready forfrenetic use.
